Implicit bias or implicit association are thoughts and feelings outside of one’s conscious awareness and control. The goal of the Implicit Association Test (IAT) is to make people aware of their hidden biases.

Read the “Preliminary Information” and then click, “I wish to proceed.’ You will be asked to answer a few demographic questions. Take the following test: Race (‘Black – White’ IAT). This IAT requires the ability to distinguish faces of European and African origin. It indicates that most Americans have an automatic preference for white over black. When you are done, you will see a -Debriefing” page where your results are displayed. Click “Submit” at the bottom of the page to submit your answers and receive more information.
