For this week’s DB, your assignment is to watch some television. Well, 1950s television, that is! You are
going to need to view one of the popular television shows from the 1950s. There are a lot of options
available, and you can choose which show and episode, and view them on youtube.com, or wherever you
might locate them.
Some of the more popular shows:
Father Knows Best (1954-1960)
Leave it to Beaver (1957-63)
I Love Lucy (1951-57)
The Honeymooners (1955-56)
The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet (1952-66)
There is a tendency for many people to rather uncritically accept the TV shows of the 1950s as accurately
depicting American life in that era.
