For your final assignment, you will develop and present a collage of what you learned. The collage will represent material from each week, either from the lesson, the reading, or the forums. You will:
• present the element for the week
• provide an explanation of relevance and significance within the industry
• identify a related court case or legislation
• evaluate what was learned and utility in shaping meaning or knowledge
• provide an analysis of the possible or ongoing influence of the case or legislation within the industry.
To provide a context or framework for the assignment, you will assume the role of an owner or legal advisor and create a PowerPoint presentation for an organizational employee meeting. The subject of the presentation will be presenting, describing, and assessing the need for compliance with laws and standards compliance within a framework of preventative management.
The presentation should be no more than 45 individual slides. You should include at least three references in the form of precedent, supporting article, or documented policy from another organization.
The PowerPoint presentation must include the following:
- Introduction: Identify industry segment and nature of business as well as the necessity of upcoming analysis (Lodging will be the segment topic)
- Presentation outline: goals and subtopics of the presentation; use a topic title and not identified by “week”
- Topic slide groups for weeks 1-8
- Final, overall discussion and summary of key points
- References
You will provide a “verbal” component for your presentation as well. The verbal component will be provided through a written script placed with the “Notes” section of the slide or through an MS Word file outlined by the slide sequence.
• Layout: Slides are appropriate for content and utilize transitions. Continuity exists.
• Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
• APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA (6th edition) style and formatting.
