Tell a story, in up to 300 words of text, or a blend of a smaller amount of text with images (feel free to consult with me about length/size parameters), that implicitly, yet coherently, speaks to any aspect of the course content. A story need not be ‘true to facts’ and indeed would encourage any manner of metaphorical fictionalization to convey an idea. In other words, accurate facts are not too important. However, whatever fictional ‘facts’ you invent ought to contain some implicit pattern that is relevant to some aspect of the course.
In other words, tell the idea in the form of a story, where the idea is never explicitly stated, but implied as clearly as possible.
The story will be graded according to the Criteria of Evaluation:
1) Is it Clear? If the assignment is mostly textual, and there are departures from normal English grammar, are they there for a clear rhetorical reason?
2) Is it Detailed? Are there enough vivid details, whether of a sensory, conceptual or imaginary nature, to give the story life?
3) Is it Coherent? Does what it implies show real relevance to an aspect of the course content being story-fied? Remember that coherence is always implicit in a story, unlike in an essay where it is explicitly expressed as a premise.
