In lines 40-45 Marcellus and Bernardo continuously pressure Hortario to talk to the ghost because he was an
art scholar. Horatio later goes on to make demands to the ghost, “Stay. Speak, speak. I charge thee, speak”
(1.1.51) but the ghost simply exits without saying a word. Why could have Marcellus and Bernando have
pressured Hortario to talk to the ghost other than because he was an art scholar?
