REVISION: . There are errors and typos. Misspellings where instead of PyTorch it is MyTorch. Some sentences does not connect, there is dots in the middle of the sentences.

Outline why I am interested in particularly interested in MSc in Software Engineering.
• Show my motivations – what particularly appeals to my about the course or research topic?
• Link my plans for future study with your career aspirations
• Demonstrate that I am making an informed decision by referring to research that you have done into the course, studies or research area. Show that I am genuinely motivated to follow this route and have thoroughly thought it through, in order to show that I will not drop out when the going gets tough.

About course aim:
This course is aimed at students who have a substantial background in computing and want to study advanced computing concepts and technologies in more depth.
This taught postgraduate course offers you the opportunity to study a wide variety of topics in depth with dedicated experts.
It is aimed at students who have a substantial background in computing and who want to study advanced computing concepts and technologies in more depth.

My goal: is to work for large scale tech companies (Google or Amazon) as a Software Engineer.

My interest: I am interested in Web applications development. I would like to gain more knowledge and learn how to build scalable and reliable applications. As well, deepen my understanding applications of security topics from both a practical industrially-focused perspective, whilst also providing a storing research perspective. In addition to that, I want to learn and experiment how we could apply machine learning and pattern recognition in Web applications. Study, design and implement modern statistical machine learning methodologies regarding statistical component analysis, statistical linear dynamical systems and other statistical models.

Courses I would learn from:
LARGE SCALE APPLICATIONS:
• LARGE SCALE DATA MANAGEMENT
• SOFTWARE RELIABILITY
• SOFTWARE ENGINEERING FOR INDUSTRY
Focuses on the tools, techniques, practices and principles software engineers use on a daily basis to successfully build, modify, maintain and grow the large software systems.
SECURITY TOPICS:
• ADVANCED SECURITY*
• CRYPTOGRAPHY ENGINEERING
• INFORMATION AND CODING THEORY
• NETWORK AND WEB SECURITY

MACHINE LEARNING TOPICS:
• DATA ANALYSIS AND PROBABILISTIC INFERENCE
• ADVANCED STATISTICAL MACHINE LEARNING AND PATTERN RECOGNITION
• REINFORCEMENT LEARNING*
• LOGIC-BASED LEARNING

“In the description of the Master’s or PhD programme it will normally detail the key requirements you will need to be effective on the course, including the types of skills, experiences and technical ability that are important. You can use these as a guide to the various points that you will need to address within your personal statement. It is worth noting that as well as showing your motivations for this particular course, the reader of your personal statement is also likely to be interested in how this course fits in with your long-term career plans.”

n “After, my exchange studies…” paragraph maybe it should follow the time line. Maybe first it should talk about my internship and then about PyTorch Scholarship Challenge from Facebook. Moreover, a month ago I have join Machine Learning Tokyo group.
Groups primary focus is on engineering AI. Groups vision is to build and support a strong, diverse machine learning community in Tokyo.
About the group:
“In the course year we were able to provide close to 40 technical meetups and working sessions and facilitated over 250 hours of ML study. Our community is currently 1200 members strong.
So far, we have provided hands-on workshops and working sessions on cutting-edge deep learning topics such as Generative Adversarial Networks, Object Detection, Natural Language Processing and more. Other events may include talks, panel discussions and networking opportunities for a broader audience interested in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Machine Learning.”

Why I choose Imperial. Some paragraphs speaks in 1st person as a university. It should focus and outline my view and why I want to study at Imperial.

• Show why I have selected this route of study in this particular university/department/group
• Show that I have investigated Software Engineering area in depth. Perhaps mention individual research groups, projects, particular individuals, etc. and link these in with your own research interests and activities
“British Medical Association, the Royal Society, and the Royal Academy of Engineering.” – In my option British Medical Association, the Royal Society has little relevance in my field. Maybe this paragraph could be altered or put in a different way?

I am missing a concluding paragraph. Where it should summarise my interest in the subject, skills and experiences. It should talk about how the programme fits in with my intended career path.

All in all, I would like to see more personalization and include more motivation (based on my skills) for chosen University and Software Engineering course.

and review a concluding paragraph again. It should also mention how the master programme would fit me with my intended career path and dream to work in a world class tech company

Personal statement. Applying for Imperial College, Autumn 2019-2020 – Computing (Software Engineering) (MSc 1YFT).
