Do not hand in anything other than a typed, finished research paper. Anything else such as power points, Lists of Signs/Symptoms, flash drives, uninstalled loose papers etc. will not be accepted.
Excessive use of citations on copied work is unacceptable and will result in a 40 point deduction.
The paper must be 6 pages and meet the minimum following criteria:
• 4 pages minimum typed, 1.5 spacing, font size no larger than 12 (10 pts.)
• Cover page – must include Title, class, your name and instructor’s name
• Reference page – must contain at least 3 references (10 pts.)
• Citations must be used throughout the paper (20 pts.) Over use will result in point deductions.
*1. Choose a disease that interests you.
*2. Explain what it is and how that disease alters the normal anatomy and/or physiology (structure and/or function) of the human body. (20 pts.)
*3. Explain how it is diagnosed clinically and with testing. Include specific tests used to diagnose it. — For example: which Blood tests, Imaging Studies, Etc. (20 pts.)
*4. Explain how it is treated. Include specifics of treatment — which drugs/surgical procedures/therapies/etc. Include prognosis of the disease. (20 pts.)
If any of the above numbered items are missing from your paper, points will be deducted.
