1st paragraph:explain the authors thesis- the main point of that he or she is trying to make in the book. also include a brief discussion of the scope of
the book- the subject of the book and the time or geographical time it covers.
2-3 paragraph: Give a broad, general summary of the book, example of the authors arguments that capture the flavor of the book.
next paragraph: Discuss the sources upon which the author bases his book. what materials did he use.
final paragraph: Assess the book. Do not tell me whether you liked it or found it interesting, but tell me how successful was the author in achieving his
objectives (thesis) and convincing you the validity of his arguments, cite strengths and weaknesses of the book (if they exist)
