This report should not be a summary of the text. In fact, only about a quarter of a page should be devoted to summarizing the text. This assignment should be broken down into two main sections: 1) book critique and 2) reflective analysis.
• As it relates to the critique section, students should critically assess the content and deliver of the content, consider the arguments made by the author (e.g. do the arguments support or contradict each other), consider the evidence/quotes/circumstances provided by the author to support arguments (e.g. is the evidence sufficient in supporting the claims).
• As it relates to the reflective analysis section, students should discuss facts, information, situations, and events in the book that challenged old thinking with new ideas, concepts, and understanding about aging, death, and dying in our culture and society.
