Part 1
A local company has recently purchased a 110,000 square foot Walmart Supercenter that has been vacant in Albany NY. You have been hired to build their brand and marketing plan. They
would like to turn the facility into a children’s recreation / sport center but have no experience in this area and are looking for help. Using your creative energy and life experience you must:
1. Come up with an idea that would meet their goal of a children’s recreation / sport center that can be open and used all year. (remember, this is a Walmart Supercenter. Huge facility
so you can do multiple things within the space if you have the room.) What will you do within the facility that will generate revenue and make money all year long.
2. Why did you choose the activities for the venue.
3. Once you have figured out what sports or activities you will run within the venue you must come up with a Brand Name.
4. Design a logo / color scheme for the business.
5. Would you have a character to associate with name / logo. (ex. Chucky cheese had the mouse that would always be walking around and playing with kids.) A character is not
required.
6. Please explain in detail why you chose the name, logo and color scheme that you have designed.
7. Will this brand have a long life? Is this something that you feel will be popular in the area for twenty years or longer.

Part 2
I now want you to think about the experiential marketing of the property. How are you going to design the space to appeal and to excite your customers. One thing to remember is that we are
aiming at youth sports / recreation. However, parents pay for the experience so you must keep them in mind when planning and laying out the facility.
Please answer the following:
1. What activities will you be hosting within the facility.
2. Design the layout of the facility. (please remember it is a Walmart supercenter. 110,000 square feet)
3. What areas of the sensory experience will you be trying to reach in both children and adults.
4. Which of the four “E”s of experiential marketing are you going to try to connect with.
5. What are the main age groups that you will be looking to pull to the venue?
a. What will your hours of operation be and will they change throughout the year?
b. What type of revenue do you feel can be made during the year.
6. Would possible sponsorships exist with the facility? (ex. General Electric which is based out of Schenectady, NY.?
7. What will your marketing strategy be to reach out to the people of the capital district?
