Choosing a post-secondary program is an important decision! Take the time
now to gather information on the education, training, and funding required
for one of the occupations you researched through the formal and informal
methods. Complete the following activity and submit to the dropbox.
The following websites will provide you with information on post-secondary
programs and options for financing your education. Go back to Module 2 b.,
c., and e., in this unit for links to information on university, college, and
apprenticeship programs.

  1. Name of the School, Full Address, Phone Number, and Contact Person
    in your program of choice
  2. Name of program, diploma, or degree granted
  3. What are the admission requirements: pre-requisites, % required, etc.
  4. Other requirements: Interviews, Portfolios, Letters of Reference, Essays,
    etc.
  5. What is the application deadline?
  6. How long does it take to complete the program?
  7. When does the program start? In September and/or other entrance
    dates?
  8. Does the program include a work experience component? If so, is it
    volunteer work or a paid Co-op or practicum?
  9. It’s a known fact that students’ educational experiences are more
    meaningful when they participate in on-campus activities. Identify a
    Student Group/Organization or Activity you might participate in while
    completing your studies at this post-secondary school. Why did you
    choose this group or activity?
  10. Identify a Student Service you might require while attending this
    institution. What is the purpose of this service? If you won’t require a
    student service choose any one of the numerous ones available on
    campus. What is its purpose?
  11. University/college Libraries provide the highest quality information in
    your area of study. During what regular hours are the libraries open on
    campus? What other services do the libraries provide students?

    financial burden, it’s extremely important to analyze your financial
    needs.
