Culture Shock…has it happened to you?
Describe a time when you experienced culture shock. Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary defines culture shock as a “sense of confusion and uncertainty

sometimes with feelings of anxiety that may affect people exposed to an alien culture,” such as one might experience when visiting a foreign country. What

caused the culture shock you experienced? What did you do to adjust to the culture? List two or three things from the text reading that can help to minimize

“culture shock”. (Note that this does not necessarily have to have been in a foreign country. It could also be a new work environment, or in another region of

this country.)
