Your essay must have a main point/thesis/central claim. Your essay should support that claim with
carefully chosen points of analysis that are fully developed and supported with specific examples from the
play and your research. Make sure that your essay has well-crafted paragraphs with clear topic
sentences supported by sentences and examples directly related to the topic sentence for each
paragraph. This assessment is as much about your ability to write well as it is about your ability to
critically analyze plays that deal with similar issues in varying ways.
