Choose a topic from those below and perform a literature search regarding the research in that area. Do not make your topic so broad that you are unable to cover the research in enough depth to compare and contrast positive and negative findings. Papers should include at least 10 research studies or peer-reviewed sources. These sources will most likely be journal articles from peer-reviewed journals that have a methods section—literature reviews will not be counted as research articles. Papers should synthesize and evaluate the research, comparing and contrasting different studies’ conclusions and draw final conclusions about the current state of the science in that area based on the research presented, including future directions for the research. Note that this paper is not to be a summary of best practice in an area, but an analysis of the research that has been conducted. Research should be less than 10 years old other than seminal articles (e.g., Lovaas, 1987).
