Compare or contrast two individuals from weeks one through four (Christopher Columbus, John Smith, St. John de Crevecoeur, Cotton Mather, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Olaudah Equiano, Phillis Wheatley) who best illuminate important themes of America during the time period covered. Define the themes you’ll wile about, and then discuss what precisely in the writing defines those themes. Discuss these themes as they relate to current day approach or understanding.
