Your discussion will consist of two different facets:
Identifying Significance
This requires looking for noteworthy contributions this chapter made to the plot, characters, themes, et
cetera. Drawing connections between chapters is often helpful but there are multiple right “answers”. Read with
intention and consider the author’s purposes through a rhetorical mindset.
Creating Knowledge
An extension of the first facet, creating knowledge means including content in your presentation that does not
come directly from the book. This can consist of explanations of the significance you identified, seeking
significant changes, considering the author’s intention in applying particular techniques (writing, literary, or
rhetorical), and connecting outside concepts/events/ideas to the text (this may or may not include research)
