In Language Arts, English Journal or other peer-reviewed journal aimed at teachers, find
a short article on teaching some aspects of grammar, usage or punctuation to elementary, middle or high students (appropriate to your area of specialization). Choosing an appropriate article is the first step to success with this assignment.
The best articles will be in NCTE-sponsored journals like Language Arts or English
Journal.

Use the article as the basis of your paper in the following ways:

1. Summarize the teaching strategy in about one page.
2. In the second page of your paper, discuss the strategy in terms of what you have learned about grammar instruction in class. Do things like clarifying terminology (is the article addressing grammar 1, grammar 2, or mechanics?) and discussing whether the strategy described seems likely to be effective or ineffective. Clearly, the reasoning behind your opinions is very important.
