Write a series of 5 blogs (500 words per blog) analysing a health promotion campaign in terms of media
representation and efficacy. Your blogs must focus on sexual health, mental health and three other lifestyle
generated areas of health.(LO1 & LO3)
Blogs guidance:
For each blog select a health promotion campaign and provide a brief summary of what it is trying to achieve
and the target population. Look at the media resources used to forward the campaign (posters, leaflets, TV
adverts, newspaper articles and so on) Is this the most effective media resource to encourage participation of
the target population? Why? Has the campaign had any impact? Look at data from PHE before the campaign
and then afterwards – are there any significant differences?
(Please note: whilst the minimum word limit is 200 words it is unlikely that 200 words would address the
learning outcomes sufficiently. Each blog should be close to the 500 word maximum limit.)
LO1: Critically consider the impact of health promotion campaigns, interventions and strategies on named
population groups.
LO3: Analyse the efficacy and evidence-base of health promotion strategies in mental health, sexual health
and their lifestyle generated health areas.
