The government of Oman is emphasizing the diversification of the economy to lower the current overreliance on oil as the primary source of employment and growth. The Sultanate of Oman Logistics Strategy (SOLS) 2040 ‘Is a principal program designed by the government to transforrn Oman into a logistics hub a. a significant contributor to the diversified economy.. Aviation is among the key players in Oman’s logistics. However , the research will focus on identifying the Strategies to Develop an Air Cargo Sector Development Model for the Success of Sultanate of Oman Logistic Strategy (SOLS 2040) and prioritize the Strategies which will be identified as outcome of this research. The conceptual model of the study. Four “broad categories/ areas. of the strategies for the development of air cargo sector of Oman’s aviation industry have been used to determinants the capabilities & capaciti. required to promote the Success of the SOLS 2040 .The strategies development categori. as following (1) development of infrastructure, (2) human capital, (3) processes and (4) technology/IT. The research Questions as fallowing: 1-What actions and strategies of the development of infrastructure, human capital, processes and technology/IT should be adopted to enhance air cargo sector of Oman’s aviation industry to Success the objectives of the SOLS 2040? 2-What most significant actions and strategies shall be adopted to enhance air cargo sector of Oman’s aviation industry to Success the objectives of the SOLS 2040? The research will adopt exploratory sequential mixed methods the reason for using mixed methods because the research study has two main research abjectly.. The first research objective is qualitative in nature which is various strategies for the development of air cargo sector of Oman’s aviation industry will be explored/identified, and a model will be develop. which will help to achieve the abjectlyes of the SOLS 2040. Whereas, the second research objective is quantitative in nature as will be prioritized the strategies explored/identified in first stage through a field survey from the large respondents and the model will be refined.
