In chapter 9, the textbook discusses the impact of traditional gender-role stereotypes over the lifespan. Please discuss the author’s belief about the major problem with gender-based stereotypes and give an example of a negative outcome. How do these stereotypes take hold in childhood? And how are they continued throughout adolescence and adulthood? Given that it’s always best to eliminate stereotypes, what are some practical ways one might dispel unhelpful gender-role stereotypes?
