In the United States social stratification between groups has a long history of dividing people into dominate and subordinate groups based on which group has the most power. These inequalities were formally accepted and were even part of our educational systems, family practices, media and legal systems. In recent decades, many groups have tried to dismantle these inequalities and stratification but elements of these inequalities remain in society.
For this discussion, please use this historically dominate group: (female, heterosexual, hispanic, able bodied, native speaker of Spanish language, middle class) and provide a list of “invisible” privileges that are result of historic and contemporary systems of inequality. Use Dr. McIntosh’s list as a model if you like. (link is above)

Discuss the privilege based on being: female, heterosexual, hispanic, able bodied, native speaker of Spanish language, middle class and provide a list of “invisible” privileges that are result of historic and contemporary systems of inequality. Provide a list of 3-5 examples for the class discussion.
Also, explain how and why these advantages persist? What changes might be necessary to extend the advantages you experience to all people?
