A key component of the course is developing your inclination to monitor the news, especially in the business sector, to detect trends that may have an ongoing effect on an industry or profession of interest to you.
To encourage the habit of conducting current research (i.e., keeping ones eyes open), each and every business day during the semester you will be responsible for reading the world, national and business sections of a high-quality daily newspaper (e.g., The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, New York Times) or accessing a news website or watching/listening to a news broadcast (Comedy channel is not considered one).
Electronic media can be used to satisfy this requirement.
