You have been approached by a Joint Venture partner with a view to setting up a UK based property
company/house to trade/invest into worldwide properties. The interested parties are looking to a way of
structuring the company/house so that there is equitable responsibility and gain for each of the partners in the
Joint Venture.
Choose one type that you would be willing to argue for and give examples of other companies in the market
that may have a similar structure. You will need to identify the SPV structure, type of investment or trading
risk of the company/house, the target asset class, location and exposure to gearing. Draw up a bank loan term
sheet of a typical building that you would like to invest/trade into.
In assessing the second part of the coursework we will be looking for a capacity to analyse, criticise and
