Chapter 1: Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management sets the stage for the study of operations
management and generate interest for everyone in the class. The operations function involves organizing work,
selecting processes, arranging layouts, locating facilities, designing jobs, measuring performance, controlling
quality, scheduling work, managing inventory, and planning production. The chapter wraps up with some
practice on one of the key skills you need to learn.
