Read “ Leadership Ethics” Powerpoint slides. Why can it be hard for leaders to be ethical? Which stakeholders’ ethics are more or less important to a leader? Why?
Paper details:

This assignment is designed for students to reflect upon their first leadership experience. You will describe the first time that you recall being a leader, such that you led members of a team/work group/social organization, etc. The experience may have been at work, at school, in sports, in a social organization, etc. The paper should address the following:

  1. Describe the leadership circumstances. What and/or who did you lead? When was this? How did you become the leader of the group? How did you initially feel about being the leader?
  2. What were the tasks/goals/outcomes to be accomplished? How did you establish who was going to what by when? What was the process that you employed?
  3. What did you observe about the people that you led? Did you notice changes in their behaviors once you became the leader? How were you treated by them?
  4. What were the primary ways that you communicated with your subordinates? What communication channel did you use (verbal, non-verbal, written?)? Why did you choose that communication channel? Was it effective? How could it have been improved?
  5. What was the outcome? Did your team/group achieve its objectives? If so, why? If not, why not?
  6. What did you learn about yourself by being the leader? How has what you learned then affected your leadership style now?
  7. Your responses to the material assignment. Your perspective should select an angle and analyze the pros and cons of that angle. This is worth up to 50 points. It should demonstrate critical thinking at its best. Simplistic comments that lack analysis are not encouraged nor receive good grades.
2a. A specific, detailed actual organizational example of your point that is from your own organization (or an organization where you were previously employed). This is worth up to 25 points.
2b. An actual example that is NOT from your workplace nor any organization in which you have had an affiliation. It cannot be an organization that your family members or friends have any affiliation, either. This is worth up to 25 points. Your organizational examples cannot be hypothetical at all. They must be actual and can be from any industry or type of organization. More details are better than less details.
All posts must be written in your own words. Copying a link word for word or simply posting a link to an article does not warrant any credit for the assignment. ***You Cannot Utilize President Trump or his administration at all as an example for any assignment.
Students must use different organizational examples. If someone has already posted an example, you cannot use the same example. Students are penalized for posting organizational examples that were already utilized by another student. Read all Discussion Board posts before posting your own work.
