Choose a reading/thinking strategy that would be used in a specific area of reading instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary or comprehension). The strategy can be one that you have used in your class or one that you would like to use in a lesson. The lesson plan will include the 5 basic components of the lesson plan: warm-up, introduction of material, guided- independent practice and closure.
Your plan will incorporate the area of reading instruction that you are focusing on and a reading strategy that would best assist in teaching that area within your lesson. The lesson will focus on a specific standard within the content area and an assessment needs to be incorporated at the end such as an exit slip.
Additionally, write a reflection paragraph that provides a rationale for why you formatted the lesson the way that you did and why you felt the strategy you selected was appropriate in working with the area of reading instruction.
