The Unheard Voice is an exercise in point of view, but it is also a good way to see how when you tweak any one of the major elements of literature in a piece of fiction, it has an affect on every other element. You are going to bring a shadowy figure out of the background of one of these stories and make him or her the foreground figure by giving him or her a voice. You may choose any minor character in any of the stories. The only rule is that they do have to appear somewhere in the original piece. You can’t make up a brand new person for the story. You’ll need to write at least 500 words to work within (approximately 2 pages 12 point font, double-spaced, in a Google doc).
