Several great ideas have been offered by so many of you ~ thank you =) As we evaluate advantages/disadvantages of a capitalist society I wanted to offer the following question to further our discussion along.
Let’s think of McDonald’s Dollar Menu for a minute. To take it a step further, or perhaps in a different direction, I wonder if large corporations such as McDonalds should be held accountable for our nations significant health issues related to obesity? We will save this topic for later in class when we discuss Ethics and its relation to business. I just wonder, however, if McDonalds is truly acting under the Invisible Hand Theory or simply just another corporation that has found low priced items is a strategic marketing tactic when appealing to the masses?
