This page describes a belief that some people hold. It may be an urban myth or it could possibly hold some truth. As you can see from the page it is currently regarded as “unproven.” Social scientists seek to turn beliefs into knowledge by examining or producing new evidence. This is most often done through 1) research and/or 2) experiment.
After reading the entry write up what type of research and experiment you could do to perhaps move this out of the “unproven” realm. In terms of research think of who you would want to talk to. What experts? Government officials or agencies? Corporate or business owners? What kind of information searches would you do? Databases? News/media? Are there any historical data archives that could be of use. In terms of an experiment what would you design? Respond with a 500 word essay.
