One of the most negative impacts of climate change is the resultant bleaching of coral reefs. This phenomenon has reached global proportions and is cutting the food supply to millions of people, also affecting billions-of-dollars worth of marine ecotourism. Whether in Florida (such as in Key Biscayne), Central America (such as in Belize), Southeast Asia (such as in the Philippines), or Australia (such as in the Great Barrier Reef), the bouts of coral bleaching (coral death) are increasing. How can we stop this environmental disaster? Can we really solve this problem, or is it unrealistic to do something about it? Watch the video posted in our week 5 module (youtube video’s URL link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5LshSZn5RA) and write an essay about coral bleaching.
