Each semester, about 250 international students come to Berkeley each year
to study as exchange students. In addition, over 3,300 international students are enrolled in undergraduate programs and another 2,300 in graduate programs. Together that’s almost 6,000 students from close to 100 different countries. As you have personally discovered, studying abroad in America is full of new experiences and challenges. The University provides many resources – and yet I’m sure you’ve found there are still situations that are confusing or difficult. How might we improve the international student experience?
