Factors affecting patient satisfaction, hearing aid uptake and hearing aid use in a private hearing aid service center

You could develop and implement either a paper or online survey for a cohort of participants to complete which measures aspects of patient satisfaction, help-seeking behavior and hearing aid use. If possible, it may be interesting to correlate these factors with the participant’s degree of hearing loss. These aspects could all be quantitative; for example by answering questions on a scale of one to ten, with statistical analysis tests employed to determine whether there is a correlation between, for example, patient satisfaction and hearing aid use. You could then also incorporate a qualitative element to the questionnaire to discern the reasons why the participant was or wasn’t satisfied. This information could be used to improve the quality and management of care within private hearing aid service centres going forward. The greatest challenge with this dissertation is logistical – do you have access to a private centre where you could source the participants that you need for this study? If so, the resultant report could be a highly relevant, autoreactive and evidence-based healthcare resource.
