What are the minimum qualifications for the position? Are these mandated by law in your state, or preferred by you? If preferred by you, then explain why. How is the best way to recruit the new employee? Why? What will the hiring process consist of (for some positions there will likely be some testing standards set by your state). Once hired, what training will be required from the time they start until they are released to work alone (include length of time for the training component(s) and how you made this decision). How will you evaluate the work of the new employee and address the progress they are making? How will you encourage retention of the new employee by supporting them in this stressful time of starting a new job in the criminal justice field? Be sure to fully explain your thoughts and justify your actions in each of these components.
