The Global Guidelines for Early Childhood Education and Care were developed in 1999 and revised in 2003, 2006 and 2011, and 2019 by educators from more than 27 countries. The Global Guidelines Assessment (GGA) was developed as a global tool and therefore can be used in early childhood programs around the world.

Part 1: Assignment questions( not less than 750 words)

  1. How do the elements of quality in the GGA compare to our provincial framework; How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years?
  2. Highlight three specific statements (either in the introduction to a section or an element of quality) that resonate with you, specifically around the role of the environment and the role of the educator. Why do they resonate with you?
  3. Compare the language used and the indicators of high quality programs to the four foundations using specific examples.
