Excel Report (20%, due Tues November 16th)
You need to watch this video tutorial to complete this assignment (https://youtu.be/YkoEAYLcFZQ). The purpose of this assignment is to help you become familiar with Excel as a tool for analysing and presenting quantitative data. You will produce charts and tables that can inform your recommendations for our client. You should use this as practice for your Final Report, where you will have more choice in how to analyze the data more fully to answer the research questions.
The report must be completed alone. DO NOT ALLOW OTHERS TO EDIT OR COMPLETE ANY PARTS OF YOUR WORK. DO NOT SHARE YOUR FILES WITH OTHER STUDENTS. This could result in grade penalties (up to a ZERO) and a disciplinary notice on your transcripts.
The report should include two sections:

  1. A brief Introduction that identifies client, knowledge gap, research purpose, and research questions.
o Then identify (i.e. name the answer, or type etc.), briefly explain (i.e. what does it mean?), and where appropriate critique (i.e. what is good and bad about it?) the following items relating to the data you are using.
  2. Target population
  3. Sampling strategy(ies)
  4. Sampling frame(s)
  5. Sample size
  6. Sampling ratio
  7. Margin of error
  8. And Results, a series of tables, pie charts and bar charts (as explained below), each with two to five sentences interpreting the results.
Tables and charts should be presented using the formats explained here and in the video instructions.
You do not need a title page, or to reference literature or provide a reference list.
Use the following part of this document as a template (make sure you delete this introductory information before you submit).
Watch the video tutorial to fully understand expectations and requirements; failure to follow guidelines as outlined in this document and the video will result in lower grades.
Submit two documents to the Dropbox on D2L.
  9. Report as a PDF file
  10. Excel file- this will not be graded, and does not need to presented in a very specific way, but does need to show where the information in your report came from. Failure to submit the Excel file will result in 5% being taken off your grade.
You need to have completed the Academic Integrity Quiz to have access to the dropbox, if you have not completed this quiz before the deadline and it causes your submission to be late you will receive a 20% penalty on the grade.

The TA will grade the paper with the rubric below:
