Explain the role and impact of behavioural and developmental factors on problem solving and decision making.
You must decide on one (1) workplace problem existing either at the place you work at or in general across business in New Zealand or your home country. Some examples include:
• Health and safety in the workplace
• Bullying in the workplace
• Sexual harassment in the workplace
• Stress in the workplace
• Teamwork problems
• Poor attendance and punctuality at work
• Discrimination in the workplace (See Human Rights Act 1993)
• Pay inequities in the workplace
• Employment relationship problems (for example – unjustified disadvantage – being treated differently compared to other people at work. (See www.mbie.govt.nz – Employment)
• Fear of change in the workplace
• Responding to negative feedback from boss
• Dealing with toxic, negative employees in the workplace
• Low motivation and job satisfaction at work
Your should specifically address the following:

  1. Introduction: Give an introduction to the organisation and to the problem (a brief history of the organisation) and include the workplace problem, the behavioural and development factors involved and present it in the form of a problem statement (covering ideal situation, symptoms, summary, size and scope, consequences and research). (10MARKS)
