  1. At the start of the story, a lot of importance is given to the gang’s leadership structure. Why do you think the gang stops being concerned with who is leader as they destroy the house?
  2. How does the destruction of the house deviate from the gang’s normal activities?
  3. How could destroying the house be seen as an expression of T’s feelings of loss?
  4. After reading this, how do you feel about T as a person? Think especially about how T responds when Blackie asks if he hates Mr. Thomas?
  5. Based on your answer to #4, if you’re able to relate to T even a little bit, does that make his actions less evil in your opinion? Explain your answer.
