- At the start of the story, a lot of importance is given to the gang’s leadership structure. Why do you think the gang stops being concerned with who is leader as they destroy the house?
- How does the destruction of the house deviate from the gang’s normal activities?
- How could destroying the house be seen as an expression of T’s feelings of loss?
- After reading this, how do you feel about T as a person? Think especially about how T responds when Blackie asks if he hates Mr. Thomas?
