1. Pick at least one of the stories I mentioned above (The Tell-Tale Heart, The Waltz, Have a Cigar, and Shooting An Elephant). Make sure you like your selection because you are going to write your annotated bibliography over your choice and your final paper (why not, you will already have your sources).
  2. After making your selection, look at the moral/ethics, decision-making, and consequences of either the narrator or character. For example, if you liked the short story The Tell-Tale Heart, then look at the morals/ethics, decision(s), and consequences of the narrator.
  3. Morals are what WE believe to be right, while ethics is the right thing to do. For example, you find a wallet/purse on a restroom counter in a convenience store. Do you turn it into the store’s manager? Morals are how you were raised, and say ‘yes I will turn it in because you believe it is right. By turning it in, you display your use of good ethics (because you are doing the right thing). You decided to turn in the wallet/purse, and the consequences are that not only is your conscience clear, but also you are helping the person who lost their wallet/purse gain it back.
