Description

Thomas Jefferson would serve as the third president of the United States from 1804-1809. During his administration, he would encounter a variety of important issues many of which were successful. At the same time, he made many unpopular decisions which caused Jefferson to question whether the turmoil had been worth the position. When Jefferson died in 1826 he asked that the presidency not be included on his tombstone. The Miller Center provides a very thorough overview of his administration, https://millercenter.org/president/thomas-jefferson/key-events.

Review the materials in the Module 4 Learning Activity. I would highly recommend viewing “The Presidents” film in the learning activity as a starting point. Look for up to three events in Jefferson’s life that interests you the most. You may write about one, two, or three of these events in your 500 word paper. Include at least one primary source, one journal article (from the library or learning activity), and one other source from the activity. Remember that you should use just the sources in the learning activity. If there are other sources you would like to use, please email to discuss. Please do not use reference materials such as the textbook or the encyclopedia.
