Overview
As a reminder, for this paper, you will need to identify your topic and provide a Functionalist and a Conflict theory analysis of your paper in American Society (the theory is important). You will simply need to start thinking about narrowing down your topic and starting your research.
Directions
After you have conducted your research, you will analyze your information using the following questions as a guide, or you can arrange according to your research method.
- Discus the history about your topic, how did emerge, how did it come into existence.
- Analyze the entire significant problem related to your topic. What are the caused various change that makes your topic important? Give an example and explain the procedure, medicine, and type of surgery.
- What are the consideration and prevention for unnecessary surgery. What is meant by the concept of unnecessary in regard in medical practice.
- Who are the major target in your topic, what are their role and statuses, and how they have to deal with unnecessary surgery?
- Papers must include one paradigm (one only) Discuss it directly and apply it thoroughly!
- Paper structure: Introduction, Body of Paper (where you discuss your findings), Conclusion and Recommendation. Be sure to use sociological terms from this course to discuss your topic!
- Papers must include at least 5 resources from: books, newspaper articles, news-magazine articles, sociological journals, internet sites, videos, DVD’s, interviews, etc.) In short, you need a combination of resources.
- Papers must include MLA in-text citations and a Works Cited list (alphabetized!).
