Identify and select a “great” leader whom you admire, who has influenced you, etc. The person does not have to be a national or global figure. He or she can be local or personal to you. The person can be currently alive or historical. Write a 1-3-page paper with references from which you drew any material about this person. Answer the following questions in your paper:
Identify the person. If s/he is a local person (meaning a mayor, school teacher, coach, supervisor, etc.) or personal to you (e.g., a close friend, relative, etc.) please provide some description about them.
What, in your mind, makes them a leader?
What lessons, and insights, about being an effective leader have you learned from this person. How did s/he influence you?
How do the Kouzes and Posner Five Leadership Practices apply to this person?
What is the one “big takeaway” (what did s/he teach you about leadership/being a leader). This should be highlighted in the paper and in your presentation, so I and your classmates “get it.”
