To demonstrate your abilities for advanced research and academic writing, you select an original topic for scholarly investigation in an area of your choice related to your major option in the communication discipline. This may include either a quantitative (surveys, experiments) or qualitative study (interviews, ethnography, focus groups, participant observation, textual or content analysis). Research papers should be 10-15 pages in length, double-spaced, and include an original research question, statement, or hypothesis, a clear and cogent methodological approach, both primary and secondary sources (interviews, experiments, observations as well as library/Internet research), and 10-20 bibliographical references.
