In the 1400’s, following the upheaval of the Black Death, Europeans began to question the corruption and abuses of power by the Catholic Church. This movement sought to reform the Catholic Church, one of its leaders in Germany was Martin Luther. In his 95 Theses he lodged a serious protest against the sale of indulgences & other corruptions of Christian theology.
