Choose ONE from the following topics:
a) Social determinants of health and mental health care: impact of socio economic,
geographic and cultural factors on mental health and mental health care in Ontario
b) Communication skills in assessment planning and intervention in care of patients
with mental health disorders in community or inpatient settings.
c) Professionalism in mental health nursing
Students will write an in-depth scholarly paper that will critically analyze one of the above
topics. The paper is to include a description of the selected concept based on the literature,
as well as a critical analysis of related theoretical and research literature and a discussion
of practice implications.
