Read two or more assigned articles(available through the course website)on a painting by Caravaggio that has been the subject of scholarly debate. You are asked to analyze the respective arguments, weigh the supporting evidence on both sides, and take a position in the debate. In formulating your position, which may take one side in the debate or articulate an alternative possibility, you should support your conclusion through critical analysis of the articles, your own visual observation, and your reflection upon our course readings and discussions. Papers should have endnotes and bibliography in Chicago Manual of Style format.
