Select a large (500 rooms or more) hotel in your local area where you can personally visit the location. Below is the information that will be required in your portfolio. Meet with a sales / catering manager to assist you in the project. You will be completing their portfolio based on the following information:
Meeting / event and breakouts for 500 people
Three days with all meals included
Entertainment included.
Ask the sales / catering manager (meeting planner) to show you the space and how your event might be set-up. Include a floor plan of where the main meeting will be as well as the break-out rooms. This should be included in an appendix.
Include in the portfolio and use these as your paper headers:
Draw a floor plan and breakout meeting space
Create a strategic plan for this meeting / event
Generate a SWOT for the meeting / event property
Formulate a risk management plan
List and describe the stakeholders
Develop a budget
Describe how the meeting / event will be marketed.
