Participants
The type of individuals eligible to be included in this study are healthcare workers who have been actively involved in providing care and support during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes doctors, nurses, paramedics, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals directly involved in treating COVID-19 patients or providing essential healthcare services during this crisis.
These individuals are chosen as participants because they have unique insights and experiences related to the challenges, stressors, and impacts of working on the frontlines of healthcare during a global pandemic. They have firsthand knowledge of the physical, emotional, and psychological toll that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on both themselves and their patients. By including healthcare workers as participants, this study aims to shed light on their experiences, needs, and potential interventions to support their well-being.
Population and Sampling
The population of eligible participants for this study consists of healthcare workers across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and emergency medical services. The population may also include individuals from different specialties or departments within these healthcare settings.
Sampling for this study will be conducted using a purposive or convenience sampling method. Given the urgency and time constraints associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, it may not be feasible or practical to implement a random sampling approach. Instead, potential participants will be selected based on their availability, willingness to participate, and diversity in terms of demographics, professional roles, and healthcare settings.
To gain access to the sample, several strategies will be employed. First, ethical considerations will be taken into account to ensure that participants’ confidentiality and privacy are protected throughout the study. Recruitment efforts will involve reaching out to healthcare organizations and institutions through established connections and partnerships. This may include collaborating with hospital administrators, nursing associations, or professional networks within the healthcare community.
Additionally, online platforms and social media channels can be utilized to disseminate information about the study and provide a means for interested healthcare workers to express their willingness to participate. This approach can facilitate access to a wider pool of potential participants who may be geographically dispersed.
