Write an article for a general business journal of up to three (3) pages in length and in AP style. Read this assignment, and follow all directions.
Thesis: You should adopt/write a thesis statement in your own words that takes a position about whether the United States should adopt a law like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you choose to, you may narrow your thesis so long as you stay within the topic assigned.
The reader should be able to determine what position you have chosen. In your paper, you should
• state your position, • briefly inform your reader (define for your reader) what the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is, • consider and examine at least one opposing viewpoint to your position, • consider whether there are any ethical and/or legal issues, • use evidence to support your position, and • use one or more reported examples (e.g. caselaw) to support your position. Evidence can include; however, is not limited to research, statistics, an expert’s opinion, etc. Your paper should contain an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Under no circumstances, should you merely cut and paste someone else’s writing. Your position or positions should be your own. In your conclusion, do not simply restate your thesis; instead, synthesize the information you have presented.
STYLE OF WRITING: You must use an argumentative style of writing rather than a persuasive style. Be logical and reasonable. Do not rely on emotion to support your position(s). Fairly acknowledge any opposing position(s). If you are unsure of the differences between argumentative and persuasive writing styles. research them on Google.
Due to the short length of this paper, I do not expect you personally to collect data to support your position(s).
Your audience is a reader of a general business journal. You should assume your audience has a degree in general business or equivalent experience.
