Understanding the structures and people that govern and support schools is important for teachers. Public meetings are where some of the issues related to education are deliberated and decided at the local, state and federal levels. You will choose and attend one public meeting (school board. city council meeting discussing education, state (or district) level education committee meeting, local curriculum meeting, Senate or House education committee meeting on the hill) at some point during the semester before April 15th. Your written response for this week should include where you went, an agenda and description of the meeting and your stance on an issue addressed at this meeting.
