Develop a 5-page short story or chapter of a story (min. 1250-word) or a 15-page screenplay/teleplay (TV script) exploring your chosen environmental or social justice issue. Try to use some of the storytelling strategies we’ve explored in class.
Possible ideas or settings to explore:
Setting your story in a man-made ecological disaster.
Writing a story with a protagonist who is not a rebel hero, but someone who values community.
Addressing environmental injustice in an oppressed community.
Reorganizing society, culture, or government to better address ethical practices.
Allocating limited resources using radical imagination.
Putting your character in a world with a total loss of one resource (water, electricity, oil).
Harmonizing modernity with a hunter/gathering era.
